About the Emergency Survival kit
It’s back to school season! I guess you’re excited about the new year, so am I! And if you’re not prepared to survive it, don’t worry I’ve a kit that’s got ya covered.
Do you remember the last time you forgot a hair tie at home? Or a tampon…yikes. Well here’s my secret and it’ll be the handiest tip you’ll ever need…I carry around a mini emergency survival kit.
When you’re in a pinch, this kit will keep you cool under the most awkward situations in school. I’ve been there and I’m sure this mini emergency survival kit will come in handy when you’re away from home. So, grab your favorite makeup pouch and let’s get started!
Let’s get the first few teeny tiny items out of the way. Keep these must-have’s in a tiny Ziploc bag in case you end up losing anything, these items are some of the most useful that can get you out of a weird situation.
- Bobby Pins
- Safety Pins
- Mini Manicure Set
- Hair Ties (and lots of it!)
- Pack of Tissue
- Emergency money ($5 or so)
If you love to wear some teen makeup in school, chances are you’ve dealt with a bad makeup day. To keep your makeup looking on point all day during classes, keep a few basic makeup items according to your skin type.
If you have oil-prone skin, I suggest packing some blotting tissues and a touch up powder into your emergency survival kit. A facial mist works wonders on dry skin to help those dry patches. A concealer is a must-have to cover up any surprise zits. Pack a waterproof eyeliner or mascara to touch up your eye makeup if it tends to get runny thorough the day. A tinted lip balm will keep your pout smooth and hydrated while giving a pop of color.
Pre-moistened wipes are a lifesaver! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve dealt with smudged mascara or eyeliner. This is the perfect pick-me-up if you want to cleanse your face especially if you have oil-prone skin or if you want to get rid of smudged makeup.
For your emergency survival kit, you can pick up any wipes from the drugstore. Personally I love the Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes. These are gentle on the skin if you’re acne prone and doesn’t leave an oily residue.
Travel Sized Hair and Skincare
There are plenty of travel-sized products at the drugstore, from mini dry shampoos to hairsprays. I always keep these in my makeup bag for PE days since my hair turns into a tangled mess.
If you end up with dry hands during school, take a little travel sized body cream that can come in handy and a body mist for a fresh scent. These are great options to take with you especially if you’re headed out someplace after school with friends!
You don’t want to walk around school with bad morning breath, or bad odor if you forgot to put on deodorant. Pack away a mini deodorant that will come to your aid during those PE days.
After lunch, you can use a little travel sized toothbrush, toothpaste and floss to keep your oral hygiene in check. A Bath & Body Works hand Sanitizer is my favorite in case I’m not near soap and water. Do not skimp on packing a tampon, panty liner and maxi pad, you never know when your friend might need one too!
