So, it’s time to say goodbye to summer for another year
On the upside, a new season is always a good excuse for fresh wardrobe additions for impressive teen fashion. I can’t wait to grab my girls and hit the malls – my favorite Saturday pastime!
This fall we have lots of lush teen clothes to look forward to. Long luxurious coats, turtleneck tops and sweater dresses, are all teen trends you can expect to see and the fabulous fall accessories to match!
Teen Fashion Forward
I was lucky enough to attend New York Fashion Week recently (check out my video here if you haven’t already). It was full of inspiration and I loved going backstage.
If there’s fashion advise I took from NYFW, it was the importance of accessorizing. A well-placed belt here, a stylish bag there, a power blazer to complete an outfit.
I left feeling uplifted… and in need of a shopping overhaul!
Here’s the thing, you don’t always need wardrobe addition if you can accessorize around what you have. If you’re on a tight budget, then why not invest in some of these essential add-ons that are this seasons hottest trends:
The Belt Bag
Hello the 80's called, it wants its belt bag back! For a total retro feel (we’re talking 90s vintage y’all), check out this super shiny Champion bag. It’s all about the attention to detail; the sling style, the texture patchwork logo, a zip compartment and an adjustable strap. This works well with casual teen fashion, sneakers and jeans or a floaty maxi dress. Just don’t ask your mom, she’ll tell you they were very uncool first time around. La, la, la, not listening!
Available now at Urban Outfitters, $44
It’s this season's hot trend for trotting in! The firm heel coupled with the long black fabric make for a striking look. Pair with a super cute shift dress or shirt dress, for a simple but strong statement. My favorite look for fabulous nights out.
Available from Steve Madden, $129.95
If you’re feeling a retro vibe, you wouldn’t be wrong. Straight outta the 80's (again) this season is all about the power blazer. Don’t worry I got you covered, and without the shoulder pads this time.
I totally love this bright double-breasted blazer, as it oozes confidence and sass. The bright pop of color livens up any outfit. LBD, - check, high-waist trousers with a crop top – check, jeans and a t-shirt - check. Basically, you need this fabulous wardrobe addition. Just a fashion advice for teens, this is a must have for you.
Available from Forever 21, $35
This fashion trend isn’t going anywhere. So, if you don’t own sliders, now’s the time. The perfect match for a lounging outfit, these deep ruby beauties go well with darker winter hues. Be brave and wear with socks for the cold darker nights.
Available from Pink, $36.95
Animal Print Belt
Three trends in one – a hip belt in the form of snake print and another leopard print. ASOS is owning the look at the moment and this collection of belts will see you through fall. Great with jeans, fabulous with scooped in shirts, these belts totally bring it. it also bring out the teen look so it's one the best teen trends.
ASOS collection of three belts, $17.60
Big Chunky Earrings
Big chunky statement earrings were all the rage on the runways of fashion week. I’ve never really been in to big bold earrings, but hey I’m always game. If I had to choose, I’m a fan of these oversized hoops in a woody fall color. Perfect for when all the leaves are brown. Pair with a chic faux-fur coat for an on-trend look.
Available from Urban Outfitters, $20
Kylie Jenner’s a fan, need I say more?! The humble moto jacket is one of the takeout trends I picked up in New York. Cropped at the waist and in jet black, this jacket can be paired with literally any outfit. Great fun for evening’s out, trips to the cinema and festival fun. #RockOut
Available from Nasty Gal, on sale $50.
