In fashion a lot of us tend to get too comfortable with the styles and color combinations that have already been tried, tested and approved by our peers and the society in general. Anything, like print on print that seems new or experimental is seldom imitated or adopted by teen fashion followers.
You ever see a celebrity wearing a trend and think to yourself, “how would anyone wear something like that” or “how can anyone wear that with that”?
I know; we’ve all been there.
But you know what, there’s nothing wrong in wearing something “uncommon”. Just because you’re wearing something that your friends are not ready to wear, doesn’t make you odd or unfit for the group. If anything it will make you a trendsetter.
The only thing you should be careful about is that you do it right.
So here’s something for you to try your hand at: the print on print trend.
Yes, the celebs are rocking it, the high fashion brands are recommending it and all that’s left for you to do is to wear it.
I know you’re a little sceptical about trying this sort of teen clothing, so here are 5 ways in which you can easily rock the print on print trend.
Stick to a common color base for your print
One way to not go overboard and avoid having too much going on is to stick to a single color base for both the prints. For example, if you’re going for a floral blouse print and a floral skirt print, keep the base color of the top and the skirt the same, that is either green or blue or green-blue. It doesn’t matter if there are slight changes in the shade but the idea is to make it look put-together.
The same goes for other prints as well, like polka dots or leaves or geometric.
If you’re not a pro as far as teen clothing is concerned, it’s best to be in the safe zone in some way.
